We will start by offering oil field solid waste disposal, which is the biggest need in Southeast Saskatchewan. Liquid waste disposal will not be offered as this is being adequately served.
Our goal is to start receiving waste sometime during the fall of 2025.
We are planning to locate our site in the sparsely inhabited Parkman area, off the 601 highway, between SK Hwy 13 and the Mair Road (which is about 35km east of Moose Mountain Provincial Park). Currently, trucks are passing through this area to drive over 85km away to the closest landfill near Stoughton.
The entire process is tightly regulated by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment (MOE) and includes having to generate environmental and community impact studies, a professionally engineering and sealed disposal pit, and a detailed closure plan.
Yes, as part of the SK MOE's process, there has to be community engagement. The first of our meetings will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Redvers curling rink.
